Directions to the Pine Inn/Il Fornaio
Traveling south From San Francisco
- Take Highway 101 south to highway 156 West in Prunedale.
- That will be the Monterey Peninsula turnoff.
- Take that west and it will merge with Highway 1 south.
- Follow Highway 1 south to Carmel.
- Turn right at the 2nd light which is Ocean Avenue.
- Follow that down into the center of town.
- The Pine Inn and Il Fornaio are located on Ocean Avenue between Lincoln and Monte Verde streets on the right hand side.
- It is in the last block of Ocean Avenue that has the center islands.
- Parking is complimentary and is located in the lot behind the hotel.
Traveling North From Los Angeles
- Take Highway 101 north to Salinas to highway 68, the Monterey Peninsula turnoff.
- Follow the signs to Monterey and take Highway 1 south in Monterey.
- Take highway 1 south to Carmel and the 2nd stop light, Ocean Avenue.
- Turn right on Ocean Avenue and come down into town.
- The Pine Inn is located on Ocean Avenue between Lincoln and Monte Verde streets on the right hand side.
- It is in the last block of Ocean Avenue that has the center islands.
- The more scenic route would be to take Highway 101 north from Los Angeles to Highway 1 north.
- Follow Highway 1 north up the coast to Carmel.
- Turn left at the 3rd light, Ocean Avenue, and come down into town.
- The Pine Inn is located on Ocean Avenue between Lincoln and Monte Verde streets on the right hand side.
- Turn right on Monte Verde one block to 6th Avenue and The Pine Inn and Il Fornaio will be on your left.
- It is in the last block of Ocean Avenue that has the center islands.
- Parking is complimentary and is located in the lot behind the hotel.
